John Gohde

Posted on May 31st, 2007 in John H. Gohde by Mr. Natural Health Perspective

It’s just fun to type John H. Gohde, John Gohde, N-H-P, or Mr. Natural Health.

What’s more fun is ranking on the first page for his name, John H. Gohde, and having hundreds of daily visitors see the real truth about the internet spammer and troll.

He’s so disillusioned it’s funny. He takes pride in ranking for his own name but doesn’t realize the simple fact that anyone who has actually seen his work quickly goes to Google to find out who this whack job really is. Of course, the first result they click on is not a page by him, but an unbiased 3rd person opinion like ours. The authority on John H. Gohde trolling the internet.

The posting style of John Gohde, part 1: use abuse to disguise incompetence

Posted on May 13th, 2007 in John H. Gohde by dougal

The increasingly sorry mess that is John H. Gohde is now lurching from disaster to disaster on the Google Webmaster Groups, accusing one poster of constantly rechanging the direction of a thread.

But this is something that the toothless, friendless Gohde knows a great deal about: it’s been one of his most successfull tehniques over the years, and is almost always used when his lack of knowledge is exposed:

Take this thread, for example, which begins with four very straightforward questions:

Original poster: 1)I’ve read that direct electrical stimulation of the brain cortex may cause hallucinations. Is this true? Which kind of electrical stimulation?
2)Also I’ve read that weak electrical signals were used as analgesic or sedating treatment during the XIX century. Any references?
3)What are the effects of electricity on growth? And in a fetus?
4)What are the basics of the famous electrical shock treatment for mental illnesses?

Gohde doesn;t know the answer to any of these, but wants to portray himself as some kind of expert, so takes a wild guess at the last question

Gohde: Distractions break the chain of sadness maintaining thinking. It is effective for the most severe depressions because it causes a loss of short-term memory. Patients feel better because they can not remember why they were so sad.

Actually, this is clearly wrong: memory loss is a side-effect, not the aim.

The original poster asks for more details, suspecting Gohde is wrong:

Original poster: How is it applied? Which range of voltage/current is used? Can this electrical shock technique be focused on any other specific mind faculty, like shape-recognition, movement coordination, etc? Or is it just a brute force approach and short term memory is, by chance, the most noticeable effect?

Gohde - the man who for years billed himself as “NEVER wrong” in his usenet signature, doesn’t have a clue. He’s a buffoon, and well out of his depth. Does he admit this ? Or does he go on the attack, to distract from his own idiocy ?

Gohde: What makes you think that people will put themselves to any trouble in order to answer a question presented in such preemptively judgmental terms?

Are we supposed to think that you’re someone special, rather than just
someone who *not* wants to do any searching on their own?

And yes, these are ’serious questions’ too. Please answer.

To recap: to avoid discussion of his own stupidity, Gohde goes on the attack, bizarrely accusing a perfectly polite poster to cover up his own incompetence. But it’s too late, and someone who does know what they are talking about joins the thread:

Poster 3: What a load of horse shit, John.

You have no understanding at all of severe depression, its biological substrates or its treatment. While the exact mechanism of ECT’s long established efficacy is unclear, it is certainly not by the facile and mythical mechanism you suggest.

If you are going to give opinions about topics that you know nothing about, please do a little reading on the topic first.

The original poster, who didn’t know John Gohde’s history, was somewhat bemused - as were the rest of us - as to why Gohde had suddenly become abusive, and tried to placate him:

Original poster: I don’t know what triggered such a violent answer from you, and maybe it’s an error to reply, but I’m really interested in this topic, so I’ll try to bring the thread to a good conclusion….Of course, nobody is obliged to answer, as I wasn’t obliged to answer you this time. But that’s what the newsgroup are for, no? Someone post a question, luckily someone else answers. If not, bad luck and that’s all.

And the third poster fills him in on John H. Gohde’s bipolar usenet style:

Poster 3: Excuse our resident paranoid bully boy’s “warm” welcome. I suspect he was either drunk at the time he replied or his girl friend just given him her honest opinion of his sad performance in bed. Either way, John wants this newsgroup all to himself and resents the most innocent questions, totally twisting every author’s motives.

(Sound familiar to the John Gohde we all know and don’t love ?)

Gohde posts again, saying that thinks he read the “distractions breaking the chain of sadness” nonsense in a book somewhere:

Gohde: Unlike you, almost ALL of my comments come from something that I read.

Poster 3 retorts:

Poster 3: Mine are from 27 years real-life experience, extensive reading, attending conferences, discussions with colleagues, membership of ECT committees etc. It is my full time job to be well informed and up-to-date with ECT, not relying on some know-nothing author’s 50 year old simplistic opinion.

Gohde is out-qualified, out-manoevuered and looks like an idiot. As we know, that brings on the mindless bluster…three posts follow, all within the minute:

Gohde: I am a student of human behavior. Being on my 4,500+ post, I have seen them all, already, so to speak….From a Science point of view personal experience don’t mean shit! …You mean like bullshiting on these ngs?…I know how it is Larry. …So ends your lesson on psychosociology for today. :-)

SO just to recap: Gohde, who has been caught spouting utter nonsense, now claims that his history as an obsessive, abusive Usenet nut now means he can lecture an expert on ECT about his subject. And while the discussion move on, to answer the original posters questions, Gohde remains alone, ranting to himself:

Gohde: This is either a classic example of the RESPONDENT being accused of advocating the ANSWER, or simply [Poster 3] being unable to publicly control his emotions. :-) In other words: [Poster 3] might be verbally adapt, but Low in the IQ
Department? [Poster 3] demonstrated impulsive tendencies with automatic, but incorrect responses. :-(

But the simple truth is Gohde’s lack of education and knowledge was sorely exposed. For a man who is painfully aware of his own lack of intelligence, that cut him to the bone.

Lesson for today: whenever you find Gohde resorting to bluster and personal abuse, look before in the thread: you’ll almost always find he’s been exposed as the fraud he is.

The amazing accomplishments of John H. Gohde

Posted on May 5th, 2007 in John H. Gohde by dougal

Time for a grand pronouncement from John Gohde of naturalhealthperspective.com:

I have a long list of accomplishments

Wow. News to us, but we’re always keen to learn. So we collectively poured a beer, settled into a comfy chair, and read on with great anticipation.

What could John Gohde have done that was so amazing ? So far, the only achievements we knew of were managing to drink enough Coke to turn his teeth so rotten that they needed to be pulled out (he’s been wearing dentures since his 40’s) and sending his cholesterol sky-high by eating fast food.

Of course, others might think his greatest achievement was the sheer chutzpah for a toothless fast-food junkie to try and pretend to be some kind of health expert.

Or his award for “most racism and hatred in a Usenet post”:

Exactly how many nigger dicks have you sucked in your life? You sound like a politically-correct slut. Can you remember them all? We can go on and on with this topic.

So was he finally going to come up with an answer to the damning indictment by a former usenet poster he clashed with: Gohde… I hear a great silence when asked what you have ever done for the benefit of anyone but yourself.

We’re waiting, John.

Well, I’m not wanting to dampen your enthusiasm, but the list of accomplishments was somewhat shorter than might be expected for a man of his advanced years.

In fact, instead of the promised “long list”, he himself could come up with just one.

Someone had linked to his website. Sound the trumpets. Break out the champagne. Call a national holiday.

What adjectives had they used to describe him and his website ? Amazing ? Wonderful ? Inspired ? Kind ? A giant amongst men ?

Nothing like that, I’m afraid.

Wellsourceonline acknowledges Mr. John H. Gohde, publisher of The Natural Health Perspective for his efforts

That’s “acknowledges” as is: not “applaud”, or “is indebted to the genius of”, or “salutes”. It’s “acknowledges” as is: “aware of the existence of”. Something we all are, unfortunately.

Calls for John H. Gohde moderation

Posted on May 3rd, 2007 in John H. Gohde by Mr. Natural Health Perspective

They say everything is fine, in moderation. I’m not so sure that axiom holds true for our resident troll John H Gohde (NHP or whatever account he’s logging in today), even a little is enough to hurt you.

The latest
Final Request for Moderation - Gohde

The first - where he fights back by changing the thread subject
Petition to have John Gohde placed on permanent moderation or banned

If anything we’ve upset him enough that his is spinning his wheels making worthless free blogs so that he can own his own name in Google Search, which by the way John Gohde, Mr. Natural Health Perspective, N-H-P, John H. Gohde, or John H Gohde (without the “.”) We don’t care if we are #1 for his name, just that anyone that may search for it (and there are plenty based on our monthly visitors!) will find us. His past discretions have really haunted him as he is continually calling for old newsgroups to be archived, but we’ve archived them forever here in our database, which is backed up nightly.

Anyone know any good scraper sites that want to publish a database of articles?

John H. Gohde’s praise for naturalhealthperspective.net

Posted on May 2nd, 2007 in Abusive Posting, John H. Gohde, Racism by dougal

We already know how many fans we have, from both our visitor logs and the offlist emails we get. But there’s always room for one more supporter. And this time, it’s the man himself: John Gohde.

No, really. In this thread (look around post 50), Gohde clearly states we are a ‘quality website’ and - more impressively - that we are “NOT mentally unstable”.

Which is high praise from the man who hates everyone - women, nurses, doctors, vietnam veterans, blacks, hispanics, non-US citizens, web designers, SEOs, homosexuals….

We’d like to return the favour and say the same about Gohde - especially the “not mentally unstable” - bit, but knowing what we know now, we couldn’t say that with a clear conscience. More on that in a later post…
